On 11 November, 14:00–17:00, Studium Generale TU Delft invites you to join artist Nesie Junyi Wang at TU Delft Library for a hands-on printmaking workshop. Experiment with sewage-derived pigments, explore the relationship between humans and the environment, and create a print of your own.
Is there another use for our wastewater? Artist Nesie Junyi Wang creates paint out of what we wash down the sink. In this hands-on printmaking workshop you will explore wastewater as a material and a living system with Nesie, who will bring insights from biotechnology and artistic practice to provide us with a framework.
Through group discussions and parallel group printmaking processes, you'll unravel the mysteries of wastewater by constructing artistic narrations —giving you the chance to use the sewage-derived pigment.
Create unique prints that blur the lines between science and art. You will leave with a print of your own creation. Will your artwork be a reflection on our relationship with the environment or your art-science curiosity?
Sweet snacks, tea, and coffee provided.
Brought to you by TU Delft Library & Studium Generale. For more information about the research, visit the exhibition Wastewater Color
