Tomorrows Cities - Clean tech delta

Start date
End date

Cities used to grow by accident, ad hoc. People who worked in the fort, the port or warehouses needed a place to live, eat and worship. Infrastructure threaded through the hustle and bustle—water, sewage, roads, trolleys, gas, electricity—in vast networks of improvisation. Around the second decade of the 20th century, things changed. Cities started to happen on purpose, and if we jump to now, cities are increasingly designed as a whole – as a living system. Technology like smart materials, sensors, connectivity and big data allow architects and planners to work more conceptual, systemic and smart. Cities become more environmentally friendly, liveable and beautiful.

The programme includes a panel discussion, pitches on circular economy and much more! Centre for Sustainability will be present as well: Gertjan de Werk will be part of the expert panel!

Panel members:

  1. Laurens Groen, Milgro
  2. Rutger Buch, Cirkelstad
  3. Gertjan de Werk, Center for Sustainability and LDE
  4. Marieke van der Werf, dr2neweconomy
