Work with students on your sustainability cases

Commissioning a student assignment is a wonderful way to deepen your knowledge on a sustainability or circular economy issue in your organization. It also gives you the opportunity to work together with our talented Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities students and academic staff.

Sustainability in education

LDE Centre for Sustainability is looking for a large variety of sustainability and circular economy projects related to circular industries, cities and agrifood. Our aim is to look at these themes from an interdisciplinary perspective. We collaborate with a wide variety of study programs, such as natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, business studies, law, philosophy and humanities.

At Leiden-Delft-Erasmus universities we educate future transformational leaders, system thinkers and reflexive engineers. We think it is important that students gain knowledge on sustainability and circular economy. And develop ‘sustainable skills’, such as dealing with complexity and bridging the gap between science and practice. That is why we are constantly looking for societal partners who seek collaboration with our students.

Possibilities for student collaboration

Depending on the question you have we will look for the best match:

  • Team of 4-5 bachelor or master students. Bachelor or master students work in a team of 4-5 students on a consultancy assignment, as part of their study program. Depending on the study program, students work on an assignment 10 weeks fulltime or 20 weeks part time.

  • Individual thesis or internship assignment. Every September, we organize a Master Thesis Market for Leiden-Delft-Erasmus master students. Are you looking for one student performing in-depth research? This is the moment to place your assignment in the picture!

  • Interdisciplinary Thesis Lab. Once a year, between February and July, we organize our custom-made interdisciplinary labs. This is a half-year program for graduating master students. Nine students work together on a real-life interdisciplinary sustainability challenge, in 12 bi-weekly sessions. Besides, each student works on an individual thesis related to the sustainability challenge.

  • Event. Or organize a student event together with our student board.
