Bas Eickhout

With an introduction on Circular Economy by Benjamin Sprecher: Assistant professor at CML Leiden University.

Climate scientist turned politician Bas Eickhout has been a member of the European Parliament for the European Green Party since 2009. During his work he has been involved in many of the EU's signature climate policies. Moreover, having been involved in the negotiations that led to the 2015 Paris climate agreement, he is now working hard to keep the EU on track to meet its emission reduction commitments.

Together with the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Center for Sustainability, we will ask Bas about his work, his experiences and, most of all, his vision for Europe's sustainable future. What has been achieved so far? What remains to be done? Where should the EU's focus lie in the coming years?

Apart from getting an in-depth view on the EU's climate policy, this event offers a chance to get to know more about the work of an MEP and the inner workings of the European Parliament. Naturally, there will also be room to ask any questions you may have!

We look forward to welcoming you at Leiden University's Wijnhavenkwartier in The Hague (Turfmarkt 99) in room 3.48 on Tuesday the 3rd of April from 15:00 till 17:00!
